About OpenProperty

We built this because the problem was obvious. Nobody else had fixed it.

OpenProperty exists because the same information is recreated, recharged and resubmitted in every property transaction — and the people who suffer from that are homeowners and buyers. The people who profit from it are everyone else in the chain.

We are building the infrastructure that ends it. A verified property record that travels with the home. Professional access that starts from a complete file, not a blank one. A market that runs on information rather than assumption.

Our mission

What we believe. What we're building toward.

You can't disclose what you don't know

Most sellers have never sold a home before. Nobody hands them a list of what they need, what expires, what a lender will flag, or what a buyer's solicitor will ask for. They find out at week ten of a transaction, under pressure, when the answer to every question costs time and money they no longer have. The Passport finds it first — quietly, early, when there is still time to do something about it.

Honesty has a commercial return

A seller who finds a problem early resolves it on their own terms — quietly, cheaply, before anyone is watching. The same problem found by a buyer's solicitor at week eight becomes a negotiating weapon. Early disclosure is not just the honest thing to do. In property, it is the commercially smart thing to do.

The homeowner controls the data

Every homeowner decides who sees their property record and when. Nobody — not us, not an agent, not a buyer — accesses their documents without their explicit consent. That control is a design principle, not an afterthought.

Infrastructure should be shared

The same data is bought again and again, transaction after transaction, by parties who have no idea it was purchased six months ago by someone else on the same street. That is not a market inefficiency. It is a design choice by an industry that profits from it. We are designing around it.

The standard needs an implementation

Every infrastructure standard needs a consumer product that makes it real — visible, used and trusted by the people it was built for. Open Banking had it. The property data standard needs it. That is what we are building.

This is what you're buying

A buyer who has seen everything and still made an offer is a buyer who will not walk at week ten. That is the transaction every seller wants and almost nobody gets. Complete information, verified before the sale begins, is what makes it possible.

Modern UK residential homes

The property data standard is being set. Now is the time to be part of it.

Whether you are an estate agent, conveyancer or lender — the professionals who engage with verified property data infrastructure now will be ahead of the market when the standard lands.
